Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL) is a service that allows the access to and sharing of documentary collections between libraries, by lending works or providing copies, with the goal of meeting users’ information needs.

Books and/or photocopies of articles from periodicals, book chapters, etc. may be requested.
Whenever possible, the institution that holds the requested documentation should be denoted.
The costs of this service are borne by the users or by the organizational units to which they belong, in accordance with the price tables practiced by the institutions from which the documentation is obtained.
External entity
The ILL service is also available to other external national and foreign entities that need access to documents held by BIST.
If you are an individual user, your request must be made through your institution’s library.
Payment through IFLA vouchers (PDF, 16KB) is available.
Resources available for ILL
All works may be requested for loan, provided that the Library Catalog indicates them as “AVAILABLE”.
Academic theses/dissertations are only loaned after BIST has received a declaration concerning copyright protection (PDF, 88KB).
BIST loan periods
The loan period is 15 days, and the maximum number of works that may be loaned to a single service may not exceed a total of 4. The request may be renewed for an identical period, provided there are no requests from other services.
