Reading booth
The Reading Booth is a project by the Altice Foundation, part of its Social Responsibility Program.
This project was inspired by a movement that began in a small English village, Westbury-sub-Mendip, where residents transformed their phone booths into little libraries, creating a book exchange system around them.
“Take, donate, read, return“ is the main motto of this reading initiative. Anyone can step into the booth, take a book to read, and later return it. They can also donate their own books for others to enjoy.
The Técnico Library, supported by a network of volunteers, embraces its social and cultural role in promoting reading within the IST community.
