User training and guidance

For those seeking to develop their information literacy or receive technical support in using tools and information services, Técnico’s Library offers various training and guidance options tailored to users’ needs.

Literacies – Standard training programme

Each year, Tecnico’s Library develops a training plan aligned with its users’ current needs, offering scheduled sessions led by guest instructors. The Literacies programme is made available at the start of each academic year, being continuously updated.

The training sessions offered through the literacies programme are open to Tecnico’s community and external participants alike. Participants need only complete the registration form corresponding to the session. Registration opens one week before the session date.

Classroom-based specialized training

Técnico’s Library offers classroom-based training sessions upon request by faculty members. We cover topics related to information and scientific literacy and provide support in the use of research tools and reference management software.

Specialized individual support

The Library offers individual assistance upon request. We provide publishing support, assisting you in selecting the most suitable journal and transformative agreement. We also provide guidance in the use of research tools and reference management software, assist with institutional repository deposit and understanding publication policies.

Scientific Writing Workshop

Each year, in collaboration with Técnico PhD Hub, Técnico’s Library organizes a four-day workshop aimed at IST’s PhD students. Registration is open to both the Técnico’s community and external participants.
